SCHEME

It is used to identify the protocol (set of rules for processing the data) to be used to access the resource on the internet. It can be http(not secure) or https(secure).
Technically , http or https ( if the site is secure) is automatically added by your browser while searching.

DOMAIN

In simple terms we can say that the unique address that people come to your website by typing in a web browser is called the domain name. For example, the domain name "google.com". This domain points to the IP address "216.58.216.164". Generally, it's easier to remember a name rather than a long string of numbers.

What is an IP address?

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique label or a string of numbers assigned to websites. IP address are mathematically produced. Actually domain name functions as the link to IP address . We can say that if IP address is the "name" then the domain name is the "nickname" which is more convenient to use. It communicates exact Information about the address in a way which is helpful for the computer but makes no sense for us.
So finally we can say that domain name is the part of the URL (which we use while searching) which points to an IP address where information resides.

Is domain name is only the URL?

No. Domain name is only a part of the URL. URL is the complete address of the web page on the internet while domain name is the address of the website. URL help you to connect with any of the webpage within the website.

The first Internet domain name    "symbolics.com" was registered by Symbolics, a Massachusetts computer  company on March 15, 1985. {alertSuccess}

PATH TO RESOURCE

The path refers to exact location of page or a file that the user wants to access. It is located next to the domain name and is separated by /. An URL without the path to resource will generally loads a homepage or an index page.

PARAMETERS

They are the part of the URL that follows a question mark '?'. They are confusing for us but is an important information to servers. They are used for searching (used in the search engine to focus what you are searching),  tracking(used to record and share information of interaction of a user with the website) and many more other parameters are there such as filtering, identifying etc.

ANCHOR

It helps to link to the content on the same page. It begins with a hashtag '#'. We can see types of anchor from two perspectives-

Individual anchor which helps to link to any one topic of the page without searching the whole page which may be time consuming.

Set of anchors are collection of links which will link to the topics of page by just clicking them just like table of contents which you can see in the first page of the book.
